The Jacksonville Herpetological Society is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving the herp community since 1987. We meet the first Sunday of each month in the Biological Sciences Building at the University of North Florida (excluding holidays and special events) from 2-4pm. At each meeting we have a speaker from the field of herpetology, biology, and conservation, speaking on a wide range of subjects. Meetings are open to the public. Check out our Facebook page at facebook.com/jaxherpsociety for the most up-to-date information.
Purpose
- To enhance the education of the members and the general public through the programs of the Society.
- To promote the conservation of all wildlife in general and of herpetofauna in particular.
- To achieve a closer cooperation and understanding between amateur and professional herpetologists, so they may work together for the common cause of science.
